Over the past ten years Marldon Marquees has become a successful marquee hire company providing specialist marquee designs for weddings and corporate events. We decided to organise a party for friends, families and suppliers at Yarner house on the outskirts of Dartmoor. This is a venue for all types of functions and more information can be found at www.yarner.com. It was a very successful event with much fun had by all. For the transport of the guests, we hired two antique coaches to take us through the local towns picking people up along the way. We used Ron Greet Busses for this and can be contacted on 01803 813039. The weather was perfect and only added to the spectacular view that Yarner offers. There was then a show by a local Falconry Centre, Dartmoor Hawking (01647 433640). This was brilliant and allowed children and adults to participate, or stand back and marvel at the incredible prowess of some of these birds. There were also two entertainers, milling amongst the crowds performing a little close hand magic, which supplied equal amounts of laughter and confusion!

Dinner was in the form of a barbeque and the food was excellent. From fish to steak, Caroline Bowser satisfied everyone's taste. During dinner we had the pleasure of listening to, 'Good Time Jazz Trio', who played relaxing music creating a warm and cosy atmosphere. After dinner a 'Marquee' styled cake was presented and not only did it look stunning, it tasted superb as well. The entertainers used the dark to perform their fire juggling, and carried on amazing us all. At midnight the coach arrived to take everyone home, and look forward the bank holiday lye in!
